How to Flip a Video Online in 3 Steps
A browser video flipper for creators who need the mirror just right.
Upload your video
Drop in an MP4, MOV or WEBM clip — selfie takes, tutorials, dash-cam footage all work.
Pick a flip direction
Mirror left-right to undo the selfie effect, or flip vertically for upside-down footage. The preview mirrors live.
Export
Render the mirrored video at full quality and download it instantly — nothing to install.
When a video flipper helps
Undo the selfie mirror
Front-camera recordings come out mirrored. Flip horizontally so text, logos and the room read the way viewers expect.
Mirror tutorials
Flip a yoga, dance or guitar tutorial so learners can follow along in the same direction as the instructor.
Fix upside-down footage
Security cameras, dash cams and phone mounts sometimes record upside down. A vertical flip puts it right side up.
Platform mirroring
Some feeds deprioritize reused content. Mirroring a portrait clip gives it a fresh look while keeping the message.
Video Flipper FAQ
Is this video flipper free?
Yes. You can flip and mirror clips in the browser without installing software. No signup is required to use the tool.
What's the difference between horizontal and vertical flip?
A horizontal flip mirrors the frame left-to-right, like looking in a mirror. A vertical flip turns the picture upside down by swapping top and bottom.
Is flipping the same as rotating?
No. Flipping mirrors the picture across an axis — dimensions stay the same and text reads backwards. Rotating turns the picture by an angle; a 90° rotation swaps width and height. If your clip is sideways, you need a rotator, not a flipper.
Why does the text in my video read backwards after flipping?
That's inherent to mirroring — anything with writing (shirts, signs, whiteboards) will be reversed. If the text was already correct before flipping, a rotation is probably what you actually needed.
Will flipping reduce quality?
Flipping requires a re-encode, but the original resolution, duration, frame rate and audio track are preserved. At the default quality the difference is virtually invisible.
What formats are supported?
MP4, MOV, WEBM and AVI inputs work. MOV files are delivered back as MOV for Apple editors; everything else comes back as MP4.
Will my file be uploaded to a server?
No. Flipping runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your video never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded, queued or stored.
Do I need to sign up?
No account is required to flip a video. Sign in only if you use other Kinoify features that need credits or history.
