Is this video clipper free?
Yes. You can clip and trim videos in the browser without installing software. No signup is required to use the tool.
What's the difference between clipping and splitting?
Clipping keeps one clip — you cut the unwanted beginning and end off a single video. Splitting divides one video into multiple separate files. If you need many segments, use the free video splitter instead.
Will trimming reduce quality?
Not with the lossless mode — the original video and audio streams are copied untouched into the new file. The precise-cut mode re-encodes to land the cut exactly where you set it; at the default quality the difference is virtually invisible.
Why does the lossless cut start slightly off?
Lossless cutting can only start on a keyframe, so the cut may snap to the nearest one — usually within a couple of seconds. If you need the cut to land exactly, switch to the precise-cut mode.
How precise are the cut points?
You can set start and end times to a tenth of a second, either by scrubbing the preview and setting the playhead or by typing exact values.
What formats are supported?
MP4, MOV, WEBM, AVI and MKV inputs work. The clip is delivered back in the matching container — MP4 stays MP4, MOV stays MOV.
Will my file be uploaded to a server?
No. Clipping runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your video never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded, queued or stored.
Do I need to sign up?
