How to Remove a Watermark from a Video in 3 Steps

The fastest way to cover a watermark from a video online — right in your browser, no upload.

Step 1

Upload your video

Drag and drop the clip that has the watermark, logo or text you want gone. Kinoify accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM and AVI up to 200 MB and 60 seconds — and your file never leaves your device.

Step 2

Select the watermark

Drag a rectangle right on the preview to cover the watermark — move it or resize it with the handles until it fits. Then pick your cover effect: Gaussian blur, mosaic or a black box.

Step 3

Process & download

Choose MP4, WebM or MOV and a quality preset, then hit process. Everything runs locally in your browser with ffmpeg — download the clean export when the bar completes.

Choose Your Cover Effect

Three ways to make a watermark disappear, plus a privacy guarantee: pick the one that fits your footage.

Gaussian Blur

A soft transition that blends naturally with the surrounding footage — the best look for logos and channel badges, with intensity you can tune from subtle to strong.

Mosaic

Classic pixelation that fully hides the content — nothing readable survives. The most thorough choice for text watermarks and copyright notices.

Black cover

The simplest and most complete cover: the area is filled with solid black. Ideal when coverage matters more than looks — privacy protection, compliance, archives.

Private by design

Processing runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly. Your video is never uploaded to any server — it never leaves your device.

Logos, Text, Timestamps & Stickers

If it sits on top of your footage, drag one box and Kinoify covers it.

Brand & channel logos

Corner station logos, channel watermarks and creator branding burned into the picture.

Text & captions

Hard-coded subtitles, headlines, timestamps and any overlay text you no longer want.

Timestamps & date stamps

Camera date/time stamps and surveillance-style corner overlays.

Platform floating watermarks

The floating logos stock and social platforms add to previews and exported clips.

Stickers & graphics

Stickers, emojis, banners and small graphics placed on top of the footage.

Supported Video Formats, Sizes & Length

Formats

Import MP4, MOV, WEBM and AVI — the formats your phone, camera and editor already export. Export as MP4 (universal), WebM (smaller, web playback) or MOV (Apple devices).

File size

Up to 200 MB per file, processed entirely on your device — no upload wait, no bandwidth limit. Longer or larger footage can be trimmed first.

Length

Up to 60 seconds per pass. Processing speed depends on your device — a one-minute 1080p clip typically takes a couple of minutes on a laptop.

Free Forever, Private by Design

No hidden traps. The tool runs on your machine, so there is nothing to meter — no credits, no daily pool, no signup.

Free forever

No credits, no daily pool, no account. Open the page and mask as many clips as you like.

Private

Your video never leaves your device — processing happens in your browser via WebAssembly.

No export watermark

Kinoify never adds its own watermark to your exported video — clean MP4, WebM or MOV output.

Watermark Removal FAQ

How to remove a watermark from a video for free?

Use Kinoify's local masking tool: upload (or rather, open) your clip, drag a box over the watermark, pick a cover effect and process. It's 100% free — no signup, no credits, no daily limits beyond a 200 MB / 60-second clip cap.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser using WebAssembly (ffmpeg compiled to wasm). Your video file never leaves your device — you could even go offline after the page loads.

Blur vs mosaic vs black box — which should I use?

Gaussian blur looks the most natural for logos and channel badges in a corner. Mosaic fully hides text and is best for copyright notices where readability must be destroyed. A black cover is the most complete option when looks don't matter — privacy protection or compliance use cases.

Does removing a watermark reduce video quality?

Only the selected area is altered. The rest of the frame is re-encoded at the quality preset you pick — Very High (CRF 18) is visually indistinguishable from the source for most footage, while lower presets trade quality for smaller files.

What video formats and sizes are supported?

Import MP4, MOV, WEBM and AVI — up to 200 MB per file and 60 seconds per pass (trim longer footage first). Export as MP4 (universal), WebM (smaller, great for web) or MOV (Apple devices).

Is the original audio kept?

Yes. The audio track is stream-copied untouched whenever the output container supports it, and re-encoded to AAC or Opus otherwise. The preview player is muted, but your download keeps all sound.

Can I remove a watermark from the whole video, not just one frame?

Yes. The selection is a fixed region, so the cover effect is applied to that same area on every frame of the clip. For fixed-position logos and stamps this removes (covers) the watermark across the entire video.

Is it legal to remove watermarks from someone else's video?

You should only remove watermarks from videos you own or have permission to edit. Watermarks often indicate copyright or licensing, and stripping them from content you do not have rights to may violate copyright law or a platform's terms. Kinoify is intended for your own footage, licensed material, and content you have explicit permission to modify.
